working with the idea of infection

Toying with the idea of Infection and doing a series of 5 pieces plus one
this is progress on my practice bit.

Oh and Bonami and Gerstly Borate equal parts by weight makes a neat cone 04  sculptural glaze will post more pictures after working on it more.

Güdrid

My latest effort named Güdrid as the name came to me when I was  pressed to name the piece.  Originally i wanted to give it the name of Adara.  Güdrid is a fitting name as it is the feminine form of Güdrun and means battle.  The work deals with destruction and aftermath and the fragility of recognition.  often we find ourselves mere moments from destroying all that we value.  the gasmask is symbolic of walls people raise to defend themselves from other people.

Long time no posts

I have not posted for a while and am giving making knives a try as I had a broken saw-blade on hand these are more like machetes.  I will post more pictures as I get further along.  one picture is the saw blades first, and the next is progress at that point.  I left some teeth on the one  it looks kinda orkish like that

what do? Udu. What do what?

Ok that was too much fun. I got my percussion pieces fired. not perfect but it is a start and I am working on finishing them.  here is a little teaser of the udu hope you like it.  Things are getting places I do however, need to build thinner and darker and things will happen.
